In this episode of the Flourish and Thrive radio show, Kate Hartley interviews Gary Marlon Suson, Official Photographer of Ground Zero and Founder of the Ground Zero Museum Workshop.
Gary, whose photographic studio was just a few blocks from the Twin Towers, started photographing the events of 9/11 shortly after the first tower was hit and continued for the next 9 months as the World Trade centre site was gradually cleared.

His book, Requiem: Images of Ground Zero is a singular collection of 280 photographs Gary captured as he worked alongside the workers, sharing in their heartbreaks and triumphs as they struggled to rescue, recover and remember, successfully and sensitively capturing the very spirit of every worker on the World Trade Center site.
Gary is the founder of the Ground Zero Museum Workshop which is a child-friendly museum and won Trip Advisor’s TOP 25 MUSEUMS in the USA Award for 2013 and 2014 and is rated 5 Stars on Trip Advisor. He is also an Honorary Battalion Chief in the Fire Department of New York.
