Tamarind and Mint Raita
Tamarind and mint raita
Tamarind and mint make a refreshing, zingy and lively combination, which when combined with Greek yoghurt, create a delicious topping or sauce for most recipes. I tend to use the tamarind and mint raita a lot with grain based recipes and my indian recipes such as the Rogan Mushrooms.
Tamarind and mint contain numerous health benefits and are worth adding to dishes whenever possible.
It’s simple to prepare and the tamarind paste seems to last forever in the fridge. Give it a go and experiment. I think you’ll like it.
How to prepare tamarind and mint raita
4 tbsp Greek yoghurt
1 tsp tamarind paste
2 tsp mint sauce or freshly chopped mint leaves
Combine all three ingredients in a bowl and serve as a topping to your favourite dish.
Tamarind and mint raita makes a delicious accompaniment to many indian style recipes. Tamarind paste is easy to find in most of the major supermarkets and speciality Indian food stores. If you have tamarind powder, simply combine a tsp with a little olive oil then blend it with the Greek yoghurt.
